Susan Kathryn Hugunine (Kilmer) 2/7/55-8/11/26, 71, passed away on Tuesday August 11, 2026 at home. She was the daughter of predeceased parents Kathryn and Robert Kilmer. Predeceased by her sisters Jill, Florence, and brothers Gary and Bill. Survived by her loving husband and companion of 50 years, Charles Hugunine. Together they proudly raised their boys Keith (Nicole) and Nick (Ashley), daughter Heidi, grandsons Christian, and Charles, granddaughters Sophia and Adrianna, great granddaughters Meadow and Brinley, and great grandson Silas; brothers Bud, Jerry( Darrel), Dave, Jim and Mike, nieces Lisa and Amy, and nephew Roger, as well and many other nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews; best friends Bonnie and Linda; many more friends and a Mom and Gram to many more as well.

Family and being a Kilmer were important to Sue. Not a day would go by without her bringing up a birthday, a memory or a day of passing of a loved one. If you were her friend, well, you held a special part in her life. She was unfiltered, authentic, loving, stubborn, loyal, and genuine. She enjoyed getting visitors and reminiscing about the past. The TV of course would always have Blue Bloods or some crime show on unless the Giants were playing. Charlie never questioned when Sue called him for something. He was always there for her. She appreciated him. Sue always took time to call or text to check on friends and family. She loved to post pictures of her kids and grandkids. She was proud to show them off, and of their accomplishments and journeys even when she was unable to be there in person. Daily phone calls from her brother Bud were always expected and loved. The last few years she grew fond of watching the birds come to her window feeders and spending everyday with Mooch and her shenanigans.

Sue leaves a void that no one could ever fill, so let’s fill it with our memories and be just like her, keep sharing her stories. She will be forever loved by those who called her Sis, Sam, Suzie, Mom, Momma, Gram, Aunt Sue, and G-ger. In her own words… “ I love you and as we all know, life goes on. Remember our love and good times. Forget the rest!”

A celebration of life barbecue in her honor will be planned for family and friends at a time to be determined.   Full obituary also found at www.TiersNews.com.   Arrangements entrusted to SAVAGE-DeMarco Funeral Service in Binghamton, NY.
