Verdell Pennymon Peeples, 74, of Binghamton, NY, passed away on June 6, 2025. Born in Perry, Georgia, she started her family and later settled in Detroit, MI, where she met her husband, Mr. Walter Peeples. Later came to Binghamton, NY where she made this her home. She is survived by her children; Jacque (Alicia) Pennymon,  Aythea Jackson, Jace Davis, Tius Peeples, and Marcus (Casey) Peeples; grandchildren, Christopher Lovelace, Braeden Jackson, Devin Smith, Shanna Turner, Ashley Turner, Desisa Blandford, Adrianna Kilmer, Nicole Alexander, Tiosha Rainey, LJ Watson, Aaliyah Peeples, LaPrincia Peeples, and Jermajesty Peeples; her sisters, Dr. Jacqueline (Ronnie) Walden and Mildred (Alonzo) Green; brothers, Ronald (Lisette) Hill, Roy Hill, Debro Hill, Ed (Sylvia) Irby, and Fredrick Hill; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Verdell’s life was cherished by many, and her memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved her.
Verdell was a straight shooter, a survivor, and didn't play when it came to her kids. She loved birds, hearts, and fishing; not just for the sport but for the joy of eating it. Momma loved her ice cream, Mountain Dew, and catfish, and cherished being with family, sharing a meal, and listening to their day.  Verdell had grown a love of the ocean in recent years when she went with her daughter-in-law Casey and son Marcus. She loved being goofy with the grandkids while also teaching them life lessons. She cared deeply for those beyond her own children, earning the name "Momma D."   Her famous words, "Do as I say, not as I do," will be fondly remembered.  Mother, you left us beautiful memories. Your love is still our guide. Although we cannot see you, you're always at our side. -1st Born
