Robert A. “Bob” Bode, age 90, passed away peacefully on July 19, 2026.
Bob was born on January 2, 1936, in Jamaica, Queens, to Rudolph and Elsie Bode. Bob moved to his beloved Deposit, New York, at the age of eight, graduated from Deposit High School in 1954, and spent years running the family’s 190-acre dairy farm.
An avid outdoorsman, farmer, and popular local woodworking craftsman, Bob moved to Windsor, New York after his marriage, where he managed the local Agway store and raised his family. He cultivated a lifelong love of the local Catskill Mountains and was active in the Windsor United Methodist Church and regional arts and crafts community.
Bob was a dedicated fan of the Minnesota Twins and Washington Commanders, and served in the U.S. Army from 1961 to 1963.
He is survived by his wife Judith; his sister Louise; and his children Loraine, Debbie, Karl and their families.
A memorial service will be held at the Windsor United Methodist Church on August 6, at 11 AM, followed by a luncheon at the church. Burial with military honors will be at Knox Cemetery in Ouaquaga at 2 PM. Full obituary can be found at www.SheaFuneralHome.com and www.TiersNews.com .
