Louise Alexander, 84, of Binghamton, passed away peacefully under the care of her loved ones on Tuesday, September 29, after a heartbreaking, year-long battle with cancer. We would like to give a special thank you to the Johnson City UHS Radiation Oncology team and Lourdes Hospice team who went above and beyond to help her fight.
She was born and raised in Sayre, PA, to Italian immigrants, spent time as a hair dresser, head of the deli and bakery at Great American, and most importantly, she was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt and Nonni. She taught her family that you can be both tough and kind beyond measure. She would do anything to help not only her family, but her friends, neighbors, and anyone who needed a hand. She made sure everyone had a seat at the table who wanted one. She never saw a stranger, they were just a friend she didn’t know yet. She was passionate about cooking, baking, gardening, playing cards, and listening to the music of Rod Stewart. She was a past-president for the Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus and was often seen volunteering at events at her parish of Sts John and Andrew. She was pre-deceased by her youngest daughter, Stacey, in 2025. She is survived by her husband, Francis, her daughter, Amy, son-in-law, Chris, grandchildren Victoria and Alexander, daughter-in-law Erin and her grand-dog, Victor. As well as her sister, Nancy, her cousin, Diane and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was a strong woman of strong faith and will be greatly missed. In our hearts she will remain forever young.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at the Parish of Saints John and Andrew on Friday, October 16, 2026, at 12:00. The family will receive friends from 11:00 - 11:45 at the church.
